The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time HCB002J belongs to "The Spotlight," a trio of new expressions in Seiko's dress watch collection, each built around an eccentric colour gradient inspired by the glow of a single spotlight falling across a bar at midnight. On the Mint Mist HCB002J, this translates to a cool green textured dial set against yellow gold-toned accents, paired with a brown cow leather strap.
Beneath the dial's translucent colour, a finely textured surface scatters light much like crushed ice in a glass, giving the dial genuine depth and shimmer depending on the angle it's viewed from. A discreet date window sits at the 4:30 position, keeping the dial's symmetry undisturbed.
Powering the watch is Seiko's automatic Calibre 4R35, which winds naturally with wrist movement and also supports manual winding and hacking seconds, offering an approximate 41-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through an exhibition case back.
The 38.5mm stainless steel case is a genuinely wearable size for a dress watch, fitted with box-shaped Hardlex crystal and a pull-out crown. It's water resistant to 50 metres, suitable for splashes and rain but not recommended for swimming or diving. The compact proportions, warm leather strap and dress-watch styling make it well suited to office wear, formal occasions, or everyday use under a shirt cuff.
